The California community college system serves more students than any other higher education system in the state – and at the lowest cost. However, California community college students have some of the greatest need. For example:
- 42% of students are food-insecure
- 22% of students skipped meals for three or more days because they didn't have enough money for food
- 46% of students are housing-insecure
At Los Rios:
- 20,404 students are below the poverty line
- 16,598 students are low-income
- 18,417 students are the first in their family to attend college

Emergency Hotel Program for Homeless Students
In response to COVID-19, Los Rios has developed a new emergency housing program that provides homeless students shelter for up to two weeks at an Extended Stay Hotel.
Los Rios Cares Program
The Los Rios Cares program provides a safety net for students and addresses their most pressing needs, including emergency grants, emergency housing, food security, and COVID-19 relief.

Promise to Career Nursing Scholarship
The Promise to Career Nursing Scholarship supports students in Los Rios' nursing programs.
Promise to Career Scholarship
Make a gift to benefit the Promise to Career Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to Los Rios students who are in health and safety programs that are critically important to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
