This November 27th is #GivingTuesday. This global celebration takes the attention off of the massive spending on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and refocuses it on giving back. And giving doesn't have to mean giving big money ... it just means giving with a big heart.

We invite you to have a big heart for our students, and give to our most vulnerable students this holiday season, to the area closest to your heart:

Student Emergency Fund

American River College Beaver Food Pantry

Cosumnes River College Hawk Spot Food Pantry

Folsom Lake College Falcon Food Pantry

Sacramento City College Food Pantry

A national survey found that 13% of community college students are homeless and that half are at least marginally food insecure. Twenty-two percent routinely go hungry without money to buy food. That's why this #GivingTuesday, our students are organizing food drives, and it's why we are asking you to give a gift to help us sustain the Student Emergency Fund or one of the college food pantries. Together, we will make sure no Los Rios student has to go hungry this holiday season.

No matter the size of your gift, when we all come together, we can accomplish great things. Already, the Los Rios Colleges Foundation Board, College and District leadership and LRCCD Trustees have generously given to create a matching pool, so every dollar you give on Giving Tuesday will go twice as far.
