This November 28th is #GivingTuesday. This global celebration takes the attention off of the massive spending on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and refocuses it on philanthropic giving and service. And philanthropic giving doesn't have to mean giving big money ... it just means giving with a big heart.

We invite you to have a big heart for our students, and give to our most vulnerable students this holiday season when their finances are often stretched the thinnest. By investing in our students through the Los Rios Student Emergency Fund or a program or initiative at one of our colleges, you help students to stay in school, in their homes, and on the path to success.

give now

No matter the size of your gift, when we all come together, we can accomplish great things. Already, the Wells Fargo Foundation, the Los Rios Foundation Board, College and District leadership and LRCCD Trustees have generously given to create a matching pool for the Student Emergency Fund, so every dollar you give to SEF will go twice as far.

The Los Rios Student Emergency Fund provides immediate financial assistance to students involved in emergency situations so that they can continue their progress towards a certificate or degree. Since 2009, the Los Rios Foundation has awarded $165,156 to 245 students at American River, Cosumnes River, Folsom Lake and Sacramento City colleges, students who were homeless, students who lost family members or whose homes were destroyed by fire, students who couldn't afford to feed their families or who were the victims of violent crimes, and yet they were determined to finish the education they had started at Los Rios.

We need partners like you to ensure that this struggle continues to end in success. The Student Emergency Fund is completely funded through the generosity of our donors. Please consider making a donation to this crucial program.
